Another Warm One

A happy day, followed by a tough one.

October 8, 2021 was an art museum day, so I scheduled coffee with my friend and the woman responsible for Ohio Fashion Week, Jackie Bertolette and her son. You will meet Jackie in more detail soon in our Difference Makers series.

Being the novice I am in the modeling and fashion industries, I wanted to ask some questions and see if I had any real future in these industries. Jackie was delightful and very generous with her time, I appreciate that.

As you can see above, I kinda crushed the outfit on this day, so before a rather uneventful shift at the art museum, I did a great photo shoot.

The entire outfit was cobbled together from parts acquired over a great deal of time, from the necklace, to the blouse, the skirt, the shoes, the belt. I just loved it!!

When I got home, my back was bothering me a bit, but I shook it off. Then the next morning, I awoke with debilitating back pain, I could hardly walk. Just breathing was painful. Other symptoms followed, so I ended up in the ER. Long story short, after blood and urine tests and a CT scan, nothing was wrong. I also (thankfully) had a negative COVID test. But for the better part of two days, I was miserable and they really didn’t know exactly what it was. Best guess, some type of GI virus. Not fun, getting old sucks.

  1. Love the outfit, and yes getting old sucks and back issues are never fun. I’ve had some myself a month or so back

  2. Great outfit, we all know how well a pop or two of red makes a black-and-white look really shine. Hope you are not having any more back issues, that is definitely an unpleasant experience.

    1. I can now do some of the things I used to be able to do, but it’s beginning to feel like I could be dealing with this for quite a while. I can still do some amazing things and can’t do some very simple things. Life…. Appreciate you Tina!!
