A Sunday of Love

What a run of love and joy!

Father’s Day, June 15, 2025.

First up, a photo shoot at a local outdoor mall. What fun!

Then to church, wow! I saw my friend Judy, slid in next to her, as I was in a row full of ladies and friends. She and I laughed and shared stories and I just melted into being a woman. Not a single human being there ever treats me like anything but a lady. All service, people made there was to me to wish me peace or a great day. The services featured a tear-inducing vocal quartet from the nearby high school. They were simply amazing and again, I was just taken by the love and beauty in that place. I smiled the entire time there.

Then it was errand time. A stop at Home Depot (in that dress). I stood in a long checkout line and chatted with some of the other ladies around me (acceptance). Then to the grocery store where the woman monitoring and helping at the self-checkout area was over-the-top sweet to me.

We then quickly hustled to the clothing exchange store I frequent, where another story occurred which I will get to shortly. Sold quite a bit, including the painful shoes worn just the night prior.

Next up, down to Playhouse Square where I was volunteering for the North Coast Men’s Chorus. I spent a bit of time tending to some work and then helped there. Hug after hug. Picture after picture. Love all around. What a wonderful day for me! Moving around the universe, looking adorbs, being treated so well by everyone and in so many varied circumstances.

Here is some more from my photo shoot.

I walked into Avalon Exchange and submitted my basket of clothes for sale. I had to run back out to get my phone from the car and then returned. A woman was seated waiting for her clothes to be assessed, and we struck up a conversation. She immediately took to me. We spent about 10 minutes together and here you go, pics with someone I literally just met.

Yep, time after time I am rewarded for just being me.

I just want to thank anyone who left a comment this week. I generally try to respond to all comments, but life got in the way, mostly good, some things challenging. That included a much needed, albeit brief, family vacation. Just know, whether or not you comment, you are loved and appreciated by the woman of the house here!

  1. Love that dress and shoes – I would be twirling! It is perfect for both church and your volunteer position. What a wonderful week you have had my friend.
