Cleveland Babe

No better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The love and acceptance I receive when out will never get old to me. There was another vintage fest in town, so I figured I would again check it out! November 23, 2025, I put on a favorite t-shirt, cute skirt and an oversized cardigan and went to quite a few places. The first stop was to Giant Eagle to pick up two things, gravy and bourbon, both for the upcoming holiday. I walked down the aisle, past a woman talking to someone on her phone with her earbuds. As I strolled by, she stopped talking to tell me I looked very good. Very good (she said so twice). I smiled broadly and thanked her. Then I went into the state liquor store (inside the grocery store) and the lady who checked me out could not have been kinder. She loved my t-shirt (so do I) and said I was fly. That sets me up for a punchline here from The Offspring, but I won’t take it.

I then went to the vintage fest, which wasn’t all that large, but it was in a fabulous new event/concert space. I got one compliment after another. Yes, I stood out, but I did so in a very positive fashion. There I chatted up quite a few people and picked up the most ADORABLE dress and an amazing very 90’s short (really short) skirt. I could not wait to try them on!!

I then went to a local mall to exchange a dress I bought for the holidays and ended up picking up two cute sweaters on sale at Dry Goods. Love that place!

When I arrived home, I had the best time trying everything on as well as assembling an outfit for the upcoming art museum Christmas Mix party. I sometimes feel guilty that I am so happy when doing these things, without thought, just beaming all day. Nothing can make me this happy in a constant and consistent fashion. Yes, loved ones make me very happy, but I am not exuding joy every second I am with them. That was what this day was like. Every second, including time alone driving, I was smiling from ear to ear. Days like this never leave me wondering, they always affirm what I know about myself. Yes, I am a man, but there is also a glorious woman inside of me as well. And she is a Cleveland Babe!

  1. I love this post Kandi. Like you, when I’m dolled up and in my girly groove – I’m grinning from ear to ear. It’s just such a positive feeling and it’s unlike any other. I love your outfit too and that you take lots of pics when you’re on your adventures. I’m new to checking out your site but I am enjoying the warm fuzzies I get from it. *Question: How do I get my face profile pic on here when I comment, so I can “be visible”?😊

    1. Grace, I hope Kandi won’t mind me diving in to answer your question. To have your photo show on your comments, you need to sign up for a WordPress account – https://wordpress.com/. Once you’ve signed up, you can upload a photo and it should then show via a link to the email address you quote when you leave a comment.

      1. Amanda, that’s news to me! Behind the wizard behind the curtain, my view of this place is different than yours and as we all know, I am an interweb luddite! Thanks!

  2. Kandi, you are so darn cute in that outfit – definitely a “babe”! It took me quite a while to relax and smile more when I go out, and now I feel just as happy with whatever adventures come my way.

  3. Kandi,
You know I love almost all your outfits.. They are my style. Cute Animal or Flower T, Short Skirt, bare legs, wedgies, matching undies (bra and panties) and fun nails both fingers and toes. Top off with favorite scent and chiming earrings What more could a girl want. Perhaps a cocktail and a few diamonds.

Thank you for your years of wisdom and adventures.
    Marie

  4. Kandi, those perfect days are something to treasure. They are so different from perfect days as a man and I have enjoyed many of them. It’s just having those days as a woman are so unique and special. There is no other feeling quite like it.
You have given me so many cute ideas for outfits that would look nice on me.
