Werewolves of London

He'll rip your lungs out, Jim.

I’d like to meet his tailor.

Simply one of the greatest lyrics ever written (yeah, I know many will argue the point). So brilliantly odd and amusing. I personally enjoy lyrics written out of a traditional song structure, like this song and many songs written by David Byrne.

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook’s
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein

Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo

You hear him howlin’ around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again

Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo, huh

He’s the hairy-handed gent who ran amok in Kent
Lately he’s been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him, he’ll rip your lungs out, Jim
Huh, I’d like to meet his tailor

Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walkin’ with the Queen
Doin’ the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walkin’ with the Queen, uh
Doin’ the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinkin’ a piña colada at Trader Vic’s
And his hair was perfect

Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Huh, draw blood
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London

Songwriters: Warren Zevon / Robert T. Wachtel / Leroy P. Marinell

“Enjoy every sandwich.”

A famous, poignant quote from musician Warren Zevon, given as advice on mortality during a 2002 Late Show with David Letterman appearance after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. It serves as a reminder to cherish the simple moments and live in the present, as life is short.

I did, metaphorically, enjoy many sandwiches this day, April 24, 2026. From the simple act of picking something up for my wife, to coffee with a friend, to the annual art museum’s volunteer appreciation day to a Plexus networking event, all while wearing a favorite skirt suit, my plate this day was full! Even my morning was wonderful with some pickleball, a workout and grocery shopping (which I do enjoy). Menu planning is something I like doing.

I met with a friend about handling deliveries for her coffee roasting business, the Rock Hall being one of her customers. Pretty sure it will work out and this will be a weekly Kandi job, all the better! Maybe a business I could expand once it gets started. I have no real great stories to spin here. The art museum volunteer appreciation event was lovely. I wasn’t at the Plexus event long, feeling every bit the elderly person I am (everyone was well younger than me). I did my photo shoot in a neighborhood near a shopping complex as you can see, dodging raindrops to get it done. I was very proud of my presentation this day!

  1. Kandi,
Congrats on finding another revenue stream, hopefully this won’t take you don’t a snow covered road in the middle of the night. And to do it as Kandi is a bonus.
