December 14, 2023 was quite the full day! It started with a sales meeting, which we crushed. That said, anything can happen going forward. My “boss”, whom I have known for almost 50 years, came up for the meeting. Afterward, we had lunch with two other high school friends. A great morning and early afternoon. Then it was time to flip the script. Before I started getting ready, I got an email from a significant potential customer, whom I have been chasing for months. He asked if I were going to be attending the party that evening.
Plexus, as I have written about before, is Cleveland’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce. ILEA is the International Live Events Association. I am members of both, I am a member of each under both of my identities. I am the unicorn…..
I got dressed for the evening and had a little photo fun!
Sherry and I then drove downtown together and did some Christmas picture taking.
We arrived pretty much when the party started and if I remember correctly, never a certainty with me, we closed the party. Basically, I was talking to people, doing business, hugging, and generally doing exactly what that party was meant for: networking and celebrating the holidays. I was able to have an extended conversation with the gentleman I referenced above. He and his business partner have an LGBT-themed company that sells apparel and accessories and I am trying to work my way into that equation. He has a non-binary daughter (if they are non-binary, then are they still “daughters”…..just wondering). We talked at length about that and the conundrum you all know as “Kandi”. We had previously spoken on the phone and had a few Zoom’s, which I have done in both of my modes, but we had never met.
Sher and I, of course, took advantage of a few more pics.
I am particularly proud of the above photo. One, it is a lovely shot and a reminder of a great time. Two, it is the rare photo Sherry will allow me to take with her, my BFF. But most importantly, Sher looks particularly great in this photo. Me…….well I did alright.
Ain’t they cute! I am fortunate to have a friend like Sher, even if she never shares herself with our community here……😏

Kandi,
It was amazing and I had such a good time! It is wonderful to have a friend like you. I think I did the best I ever did on my hair and makeup! Yes, I will definitely share myself with our upcoming event!
You’re the best 💋💋💋
I can always be better….. 😊
You two are simply gorgeous! I love the photo in the sleigh. You obviously had a lot of fun taking pictures among the holiday decor.
Kandi, I am constantly in awe of your ability to combine both sides of you with your business ventures and your social interests. Your winning personality, no matter how you are dressed, seems to be the catalyst for conversation (and, hopefully, success).
Tina,
Because of the mess I made of my life, anything Kandi is a nonissue with regard to any fear or trepidation I might have. It’s called survival to me.
Because my alter ego has a record, crawling into Kandi is actually a positive when I am able.
Thank you as always for your love and support.
FYI your Christmas present is on Friday……
Kandi
It seems like a long time since I visited the site but it really made my day to see your pictures and read what you have to share. I have a lot of catching up to do. But you look wonderful as always Kandi, as well as Sherry. I just love your positivity and wisdom as much as I ever have and think of you all the time.
