The malaise from a winter snow blast left me uneasy about going out. Is it worth the possible problems winter driving can bring? December 14, 2025, was the second of two North Coast Men’s Chorus concerts. I rarely watch the concerts, but support with my time to help sell raffle tickets before the show and act as sort of a goodwill ambassador.
I decided to go and found a fortunate weather window to allow me to go to a fabulous holiday event at 78th Street Studios, with four floors of vendors, prior to the concert. I picked up a few tremendous items as gifts or for my continual collection of unique antique items and/or rock memorabilia and/or interesting art for the walls of our basement or my office. Brings me great pleasure! That event was packed, I have been there many, many times and have never seen it that busy.
Quick story. So, I was at 78th Street Studios, on the west side of town, early afternoon. You see what I looked like here. Fast forward to the concert hall on the other side of town, maybe two and a half hours later. A young lady said hello and asked if I was at 78th Street Studios earlier. Of course, I was! She saw me there. She noticed me and she remembered me. She said she remembered my glasses. How delightful! As I have said many times, I know I am noticed and usually in a positive light. I do not enter a public space without someone at least making a mental note about seeing “someone like me”. That too brings me great pleasure.
My time at the event was great fun. I saw friends, made a few new ones and did what I always do when I scoot out the door early. I told a handful of my close friends there to have a Happy Holiday and that I love them. Make it a point this year, tell those that you love that you love them.

I was very pleased with my outfit, which went through numerous iterations until finally she saw the light of day. I do love the blouse and have been leaning into short, short skirts of late.

I have been on quite a holiday run! One more big event to go…

The following pictures were taken by my friend Kim. This woman is without question, the most giving human being alive. She has physical issues. She is by no means financially comfortable. She takes public transportation to everything. And I see her everywhere and she is out way more than I am, always in a volunteering capacity. Yeah, I volunteer often, but I am pretty sure she does so almost daily. I feel selfish when I am around her, how can I be better? No one has a bigger heart. She and I are below at right. Every single time I see her (and I am sure she does this with everyone), we take a selfie.

Kandi I love stories like this. Simple moments in life, described eloquently where the reader relates.
I really like your approach of going out in public with the attitude of – someone is going to see someone like me today. You’re obviously going to make a memorable, positive impression with your elegant and tasteful style.
I even showed my wife your two wreaths hanging in the background of your lanai and she said we need to do that.
I also have a few “Kim’s” in my world and yes, they put the rest of us to shame on a daily basis with their selflessness and loving approach towards life.
Nice little “second cup of coffee read” for this morning;-)
How do I get to that first cup?
Thank you, and pardon the pun, for your grace in your comments here!
Happiest of holidays!
Okay, but those glasses?? Absolute perfection. Not surprised at all she remembered you. Your whole look is iconic, but the glasses are next-level fabulous. Also, I love that you’re involved with the chorus! Total band and choir nerd here, so that gave me all the warm fuzzies.
I noticed that your skirts are getting shorter these days (love the color!), but like most of us in this community, you have great legs and should show them off. Even in the cold of winter!
