Washed Out

The week that was...

August 25, 2024 was supposed to have been a hot and sunny day. I was able to get most of my work around the house taken care of, so I double checked the weather and got ready to spend the day at the beach. As I have talked about before, it was a little over two hours from the start of girl prep until I reached Edgewater Park. The problem….it poured as I was driving there! So I hung around a bit at Edgewater, but realized even if it stopped, it would be hours before the beach dried out. I snapped a picture and headed home, four and half hours wasted doing nothing except getting a few bikini pics (and maybe dodging a bullet because I had no business wearing this as plump as I am here).

I passed up a few opportunities to dress over the balance of the week, doing so knowing I had been invited by the ghost of Sherry (her windows of opportunity have diminished significantly) to go out and also knowing I would be attending the premier of my latest movie. I also know that my plate is overflowing in September for big events, great Kandi opportunities.

August 31, 2024 Sher and I met for dinner in a lovely Cuyahoga Falls downtown area. It is very quaint, walkable with many restaurants, bars, vintage stores, etc. all along the way. We had a very nice meal, two ladies just sitting and chatting, getting caught up. We then walked the streets, stopping a a few different places. One was a terrific vintage/antique place, also with live music and so much to look at. The photo above and the ones that immediately follow were taken there. Almost a decade in, it is still special to simply casually stroll down a busy public street, in a dress, without even thinking about it.

Near the end of the evening, we stopped to listen to a live band, at an outdoor bar. We basically missed the band but were treated to a few acts of kindness. One woman saw us looking for seats and came over and offered her seats as she was leaving. Then as we walked over three people (Mom, her boyfriend and her daughter) invited us to join them. So for about an hour we got to know each other and it literally was as if we had known them before we sat down. All in all it was a wonderful evening. Thanks Sher!

  1. Kandi,
Now you’re sounding like a Brit , the standing joke being all we talk about is the weather ! I have to admit it can be a pain in the **** at times but would I want to live anywhere else ? Nothing is perfect so I’ll stick with what I know and basically love .
I love outings like you describe just being yourself , at one time I questioned why I enjoyed it more in a dress meeting people who didn’t bat an eyelid but not anymore , I’m Teresa so why question it !

So ask me what I’m doing right now , I was going to spend the day gardening but guess what it’s raining ! So a quick cup of tea , check out Kandi and see what she’s up to and then go and clean the house , can’t wait !!!

  2. Thanks BFF, it was definitely a fun night, nothing really big happened but like you said… Just two women walking around enjoying the sights and having fun! I will let you know the next time I’m out of hibernation! ❤️❤️❤️

  3. It doesn’t get much better than spending a wonderful day out with a wonderful friend which I hope to meet one day, 🥰 The pink dress is gorgeous and with you wearing it totally deserved the compliments.

    Trish ❤️

  4. Thanks for sharing Kandi . I love reading your stories and experiences. As someone who has gone out in public, reading your words give me confidence that I can successfully do it and I look forward to that day. There is no better feeling than wearing your favourite dress or skirt so it would be nice to wear them out into the world and hopefully receive some nice compliments. Thanks for always being an incredible inspiration Kandi , much love to you ❤️
