Itsy, Bitsy, Teenie, Weenie…

Hope you like a good double entendre!

…Yellow Polka Dot Bikini!

July 27, 2025, a full day on many levels. This will be more of a picture post than a story post. This day started with that damned prostate MRI, almost literally before the hospital opened. Back home to get a workout in (which of late has been admittedly weak, 5-mile walks) and then bikini time. How’d we do? Before you say it, I am a bit chunky but did okay.

The waters on Lake Erie this day, due to recent rains, were deemed not safe for swimmers. That meant fewer folks at the beach, and I could not get wet in my bikini. I walked all over the place, looking like you see above. This is completely liberating!

On the way home, I stopped at The Harp for a Summer Shandy. Then to the grocery store (I put on my short shorts). Before the grocery store, I made the mistake of going into the Goodwill next door. I could easily have purchased about 10 things without looking too hard. I settled on three dresses, one of which is a spectacular vintage piece. After all of this, with a bottle of bourbon in tow, I went home and cooked a wonderful meal for my wife and I.

The next day I was thrilled to discover the perfect tan lines!!!!

The “Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries” is a book series by various authors, featuring stories set in the Amish community of Sugarcreek, Ohio. The mysteries involve characters like Cheryl, who moves to Sugarcreek after a breakup, and Naomi, her Amish friend, who work together to solve crimes. The series is known for its exploration of faith, community, and the bonds between people from different backgrounds, A movie, “Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries: Blessings in Disguise” was recently shot and now a television series is in production. These will be running on UPTV. Sugarcreek is about an hour and a half from our home.

July 31, 2025, I made my (soon to be) television debut! I had a few opportunities to participate in the movie, but could not make it work, principally due to the five hours necessary to simply select the appropriate outfit (in accordance with character instructions), get ready and drive there and back. Doing a shoot, for me, is basically a full day. But this day, I was able to make that happen!

The scene being shot takes place in cooler weather, hence the outfit you see here. And fortunately, the weather was cooler. Recent shoots were well into the nineties, outdoors with the actors in winter wear! The experience was fabulous; I made a few new friends and had a great time. The actual shoot only took about 45 minutes with about the same amount of time spent waiting to get started.

I am definitely in the scene, walking out of a church after services immediately behind the two principal characters. I may well get my largest amount of screen time, maybe a clear and good seven seconds (we take what we can get, especially being able to play a mainstream female character). I am hopeful to get more such opportunities, great experience!
