Sher and I had the opportunity to do our mermaid thing, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
Another very deserving Rock Hall inductee. Damned if they didn’t get inducted in another city, spoiling my chance to meet the great, great Bryan Ferry. Love Roxy Music. Love is The Drug is one of those early in my consciousness songs, that pulled me into my lifelong love of music. This song, the post title, sort of capsulized a four-day run of amazingness and (don’t judge me) a few too many. Between a good two week stretch of constant work, alternating between overnights and “normal” work hours, while buying a new truck and then letting loose with a Plexus event, Go Red, an afternoon with Sher and finally a sad, but fantastic day in God’s house (quite literally), I was burning the candle at both ends.
Please don't ever let me down
'Cause you know I'm not so sure
Do I have the speed to carry on
Burn you out of my mind, I know
You're a flame that never fades
Jungle red's a deadly shade
Both ends burning, will the fires keep
Somewhere deep in my soul tonight
Both ends burning
Burning
Burn
Keep on burning till the end, until the end
Keep on burning till the end, the very end

Find the song, crank it up and thank me if you were previously unaware of it.
The story of this day is a short one. BFF and I had a fun lunch and a few cold ones while joking with our bartender. We then went to a selfie studio and had a tremendous time! She took my pics (which you will see over time), I took hers and then we did quite a few together. This post is about those pictures, that friendship, that day, being present in that moment and being happy with someone also being happy. Here are what I thought were the highlights that day, February 28, 2026.
Here we are in the aquarium. There was a mermaid selfie studio, but that would have required removing my pants to put on a tail, so we opted for these.

The damn selfie lights caused those rings on my glasses.
My solo selfie pics will be addending posts going forward for a while, so as not to bore you all to tears.
Spread kindness!
Postscript (written mid-March): Sher and I had a few cold ones and lunch at a wonderful Cleveland establishment, Barrio. I ordered the chicken, bacon, ranch bowl. Forgive my French, Holy Shit was that great! So recently I duplicated the recipe for The Angel Known as My Wife and I on Sunday. Sundays I make a real effort to bring it for dinner. She loved it as did I. I did a bit of my own spin in it and could not have been more pleased.
Cook, model, actress, monkey in a truck, felon, marathoner, trans, best blogger on the planet; do you know a more diverse and conflicted human being? The point here, we all come at this from a different place. Embrace who you are and find your path. No one can tell you how this will feel for you, they are not you.

So much fun!
BFF, you are the best!
Kandi and Sherry, you both look great. I wish there were studios like that near me.
