A Very Sherry Christmas 2025

My masterpiece.

I am beyond blessed to know all of these people, to call them all friends and to have the BFF.

First, let’s take a look back. 2022. 2023. 2024. 2024 (the rare Sherry post).

Joy.

December 22, 2025, the annual celebration of our real-life community, hosted by the enigma, the elusive Sherry Greer. She does the heavy lifting; I fill out the dance card. What you see above is, to quote the great Robert Palmer in his first hit song, Every Kinda People. This is not a CD gathering. This is not a trans event. This is a celebration of being loving, amazing human beings.

Love.

I sort of crushed this entire holiday season. I know me now. I know Kandi now. I know how to go about now. I know what works, what doesn’t. I know how to make others happy, to make them feel important. I know this because everyone IS important. I watched the party, sometimes like a fly on the wall, and could do nothing but beam with pride.

Like my outfit?

Community.

Sher was the ultimate hostess. Everyone settled in and just all had a blast. One friend, new to the scene, said we should do this more often. Sherry….

Diversity.

Find the joy, it really exists.

The way the world should be.

I’ll leave some space for Sherry to tell you how she felt it went, maybe, maybe. I kid because I love. Yes, I had a hand in every single one of these folks being here and I do this for one reason and one reason only. I have always felt I am “this way (however you define it)” for a reason. And that reason is to gently hold out my hand and help someone move forward. I have been shit on in life, as well as blessed beyond anything anyone could hope for. We thrive as a society when we pass it forward, when we shine a light. Not when we bitch and moan.

And there were probably 15-20 others invited that could not make it.

My personal goal is to get about 50 people together next year and drive Sher nuts trying to keep track.

Time to enjoy that grandson (as of the day this is written, he will have come and gone when you read this)! I will post one more photo of him while he still is unidentifiable on the interweb. This photo is my phone cover pic and it is the definition of life. Happiness in its absolute purest form. I literally cannot stop looking at this.

  1. Wow, what a gorgeous group! And what looks like a really nice gathering of “girls like us”.
I attended something similar in Atlanta this holiday season and reading this brought back recent memories.
“Like the outfit” Love the outfit! (Something I would wear.)
I do appreciate articles illustrated with pictures and you always do a good job with that Kandi.
    Lovely, lovely.

  2. Kandi, the party was definitely an extremely fun time! I like how you described everyone that was there by saying it was a collection of loving human beings. The conversation was plentiful and I think all enjoyed the gift exchange as well. I am certainly open to another “A Very Sherry Summer” event! The one we had on the boat was fun but a little pricey. We can start brainstorming now. As far as 50 people for next year, I’m down with that as long as I don’t have to put any money down up front. I know a gathering of that size would take some effort but it would be worth it! Thanks BFF for everything you do for our community and definitely for me ❤️😘

  3. It was a pleasure and honor to attend this fun event. Everyone had a great time and the gift exchange was fun too! I wish more people could see the fun and enjoyment expressed by everyone. The venue, an old bank, was interesting and welcoming with great food.

  4. Just looking at these pictures warms my heart, everyone has such genuine smiles and love towards each other. Kandi, your dress is gorgeous! I’m so glad that this gathering is continuing to thrive and grow.

  5. Sounds like a great fun time
