Just a Tremendous Day!

So great...

Before we get into the post, I have an enormous favor to ask.

My dance card, so to speak, was full all week. Between my principal job, my Wednesday at the beach and my pickleball league and a jammed packed Thursday busy all day, including (fingers crossed) a new job as a medical courier, Friday, October 3, 2025, could not come fast enough! Being the first Friday of the month, I was working Mix at the art museum. If you remember my recent post and making a new friend, Mo at my late friend Jim’s building dedication, she and I agreed to go shopping for a new dress for her to wear at a coming fundraiser. Now, shopping with a GG friend for a dress is as good as it gets! We first met for a primer (glass of wine) so I could understand where she was going and therefore, the types of dresses I would recommend. We also got to know each other much better. Talking like women do and for me, who is not generally wired that way, it was free and easy and most importantly, very natural.

Mo took these pictures, which I did not have time to do. There are fewer than usual, but that’s a good thing as I was involved otherwise.

Stop 1, Nordstrom Rack. We looked all over but came up with nothing that would work. Then we went to White House Black Market, which ended up being interesting. As we walked in, Mo spotted a dress that ended up being the one. The whole process of trying it on and talking through how to accessorize it was great fun! WHBM is usually pricey for my girl budget. But I remembered a lovely purple dress I bought on clearance at least six years ago. The woman working there at the time, Susan, and I immediately bonded. I hadn’t been back since, again mostly because it is expensive. Well as Mo was modeling the dress for me, in walked Susan from her break. We each remembered the other and, surprise, each other’s names! Hug after hug ensued!!

Mo and I then capped the afternoon by hitting another establishment where we enjoyed Happy Hour and I actually ate food (and had more wine). The best, best part was that she called Jim’s window, Magda, who joined is there. I was just as happy as a woman could be!

Then I had to head to the art museum where I had another wonderful evening at Mix. My great friend Jennifer, who you see here, came and we had great fun. As I have said time and again, I am truly blessed by the many associations I have.
