WHY WE’VE BECOME USEFUL IDIOTS! + 2

Another Gwen twin bill!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we’re all being socially engineered by these algorithms.

You know how it goes: if you’re on the left, the feed paints the right as a bunch of idiot MAGA extremists doing evil shit. If you’re on the right, it’s nonstop clips of the left being completely unhinged. The algorithm isn’t trying to show you truth—it’s feeding whatever gets the most eyeballs, clicks, and rage. It just reinforces our unconscious biases and cranks the polarization up to eleven.

Let me describe it a little differently…

An algorithmic echo chamber is basically a personalized bubble created by social media platforms. The system learns what you like, click, watch, pause on, or rage-engage with, then serves you more of the same. It amplifies voices and content that match your existing views while quietly filtering out the rest. Over time, it feels like “everyone” thinks like you—or that the other side is completely deranged—because that’s all the feed shows.

We’ve been Useful Idiots of the “Algorithm Matrix”

🔥Engagement is king: Algorithms prioritize what keeps you scrolling: outrage, confirmation, fear, tribal wins. Calm, nuanced takes? They lose. Like a little yes-man in your pocket. If you lean left, it highlights extreme right-wing moments and calls them “MAGA threats.” Lean right? Endless clips of left-wing overreach. Both sides get fed caricatures of the other.

The other day I caught myself scrolling, getting more and more pissed at clip after clip of “the other side” looking insane. My blood pressure was up, and I was ready to write people off.

💥How to exit the “Algorithm Matrix”

Then I stepped out for groceries and ended up chatting with a couple at the checkout line. Turns out we voted differently, but we all wanted the exact same things—safe streets, a decent paycheck, time to actually relax with family, and a shot at a good life. It was a quick reminder that real people aren’t the caricatures the feeds push.

Most folks—left, right, or nowhere—aren’t as divided as the Talking Heads and algorithms want us to believe.

Awareness is the key! You must first be aware it’s happening. Then pause and question: “Is this the full picture? Who benefits from me being pissed off right now?” Actively seek out primary sources, talk to real humans offline, and diversify your inputs. Verify before you share that meme.

🧐Echo chambers thrive in darkness. Shine a little critical light on them and they lose power.

The trap is real, but the positive side is we have access to all the information now. You can verify almost anything in seconds if you actually want to. The problem is, it’s easier to just copy a meme, hit share, and feel good because it lines up with our bias.

👉Question it all.

We don’t have to let the machines and those controlling them to widen the gap. We can choose to see people as people again.

Have you caught yourself getting pulled into the algorithm trap lately? What’s one thing that helped you snap out of it?

Drop your thoughts below. 🔥

ARE YOU NOURISHING YOUR FEMME SELF? 👗✨

You are a spiritual being having a human experience. At any moment, you get to choose: play small or play BIG. You can remain tethered to the facts of your current circumstances, or you can rise into the truth of who you truly are. The choice is always yours.

Facts and Truth are not the same. 🌈

So… how do you want to play this game of life?

Whatever you decide becomes the boundary you place on your own expansion. There is no external ceiling on what you can experience, express, or become. The only real limitations are the ones we accept or create for ourselves.

Yes, the world can be loud with societal expectations. Yes, responsibilities, relationships, and life’s sticky webs can feel heavy. But here’s what I’ve come to understand more deeply over the years: the most powerful shift happens when we stop starving our authentic selves and start nourishing them.

I used to call it “self-starvation.” Today I see it more clearly as a lack of self-nourishment. The two primary ways we withhold that nourishment from our femme selves are still rooted in self-doubt and self-judgment. These old patterns quietly dim our light and keep us from fully stepping into the joy, beauty, and freedom that are our birthright.

That’s why, if you’ve followed my writing for any length of time, you know this has remained a constant heartbeat in everything I share:

👉Be gentle with yourself.

👉Be gentle with yourself.

👉Be kind to yourself.

👉Be gentle with yourself.

I repeat it because it’s that important. The outside world can be challenging enough. Why add another layer of harshness? The most radical and loving act you can take is to become your own safe haven.

If you want to go deeper with this piece, pause and reflect: Where in your belief system are you still withholding nourishment from your femme self? What old stories, fears, or “shoulds” are quietly starving the version of you that longs to blossom? 🌸

Forgive yourself. Forgive others. Let it go.

Guilt, resentment, and unhealed anger are heavy chains. Some people carry them their entire lives—long after the situations or people involved have passed. But every ounce of energy you invest in holding onto pain is energy you cannot use to create beauty, pleasure, connection, or success.
Your femme life cannot fully breathe in a heart that’s clenched with old wounds. True freedom begins with release.

Everything we experience is shaped by our beliefs. Not just surface thoughts, but the deep, often unconscious assumptions we hold about our worth, our power, our right to joy, and our right to express all facets of who we are.

The beautiful news? Beliefs can be examined. They can be updated. They can be rewritten with love, truth, and intention.

So ask yourself, with compassion:
• Are my current beliefs nourishing the femme self I’m becoming?
• Am I ready to release what no longer serves?
• Am I willing to feed my spirit with new, empowering truths?

You don’t have to figure out the entire journey in one sitting. This is a lifelong unfolding—a sacred, ongoing conversation between you and your soul.
Start where you are. Take one gentle, brave step today. Dress in the way that feels good. Express yourself in the way that feels authentic. Speak to yourself with the kindness you would offer a dear friend.

❤️You are worthy of this nourishment.

❤️You are worthy of this freedom.

❤️You are worthy of playing BIG.

🤩Be strong in your softness. 💪🏳️‍⚧️

🤩Be brave in your beauty.

With love and belief in your expansion,

NORMAL TRANS AND PROUD 🌈

I’m a trans woman.

Proud of it.

And I’m also a biologically born male.

I say the second part out loud because I don’t believe announcing “I am a woman” rewrites biology any more than me announcing “I’m Black” would change my skin color. I don’t feel it to be derogatory to trans people either. It’s simply my personal view.

Some of my friends feel differently, and that’s fine. Their story is theirs. This one’s mine.

For me, it was never the classic “I knew at five I was a girl trapped in a boy’s body.” My version was more like a long, quiet Yin-Yang dance.

For the first sixty years I mostly felt like a regular guy. There was one short stretch as a young tween where I found myself admiring women with a serious case of women envy and wondering what that meant… no internet or anyone to talk with about it. So I did what my German roots told me, I shoved the whole confusing package into a mental box, duct-taped it shut, and sat on it for the next forty-five years. Classic German trait.

At fifty-nine the tape finally gave out. I peeked inside, poked around a little, and to my surprise the feminine side was still there and part of me and she started growing. Slowly at first, then faster.

Over the next few years she just… overtook the old version of me. Life got brighter. Colors got sharper. I laughed more. I smiled more. I socialized more. In short, I came alive.

So I made the practical decision to transition and bring the outside closer to the picture I now carried in my head.

I know there’s a hard biological line I can never fully cross. It is what it is. I’ve made peace with that. I still do everything I reasonably can to look and feel more like the woman I see in the mirror of my mind, and that effort has been worth every awkward, sweaty, expensive, occasionally hilarious step.

I call this space “Normal Trans” because I honestly believe a whole lot of us live in this middle ground. We’re not the loudest voices on either extreme. We usually keep quite not wanting to lose “friends” over not seeing eye-to-eye on things. So we absorb and don’t speak our mind about controversial things. Harmony is a hugely important trait.

We’re the ones who just want to be decent neighbors, pay our taxes, love our people, and live as happily and honestly as we can. We’re not monsters. We’re not pedophiles.

We’re not political shock troops. Most of us are just regular people who finally got tired of sitting on the box.

I did get to a point where I just couldn’t sit there and say nothing. I don’t normally voice my opinions on politics or religion but on occasion people can read between the lines where I stand since I write so much.

But then there are the few times where my buttons get pushed enough and I just have no choice. It doesn’t happen often but it has happened. It’s against my nature to explode like that but sometimes circumstances call for it.

On an everyday note:
I also appreciate being called she/her or ma’am. It feels good and it’s polite. But I don’t demand it. If someone can’t or won’t, that’s their world and their right. I respect it the same way I hope they can respect mine.

You do you.

I’ll do me.

For those making a similar journey than mine, I understand your start or journey may not match up with mine and probably won’t. That’s good. We’re both humans on similar roads heading toward the same basic goal: a life that feels true to us.

There’s no reason we can’t simply be happy about that.

  1. Gwen,
Life is can be a dilemma at times , should we chase every scrap of information on offer from the various media outlets or should we sometimes say our lives don’t need this constant ( crap ) information . The problem is as you point out are two sides to most of that information , not black and white or right and wrong but just seen differently .

OK I admit I watch very little news coverage and don’t read daily newspapers , the problem with both is they are now more biased than ever , often they don’t bring factual news they are looking for opinions , at times they are attempting to provoke a reaction . Some might say I’m burying my head in the sand , but in truth it has more of a medical explanation , I have to watch my blood pressure and control it with medication ( much like as many other people now ) .With age we possibly become more cynical , YEH! we’ve seen it all before , it’s a sad fact that to many parts of the World PEACE is a dirty word ! Perhaps it would help if more of the World experienced being transgender where calmness and peace are much sought after pleasures .
I tend to shy away from the word ALGORITHMS , it still send shivers down my spine when I think about when had to reach for the LOG TABLES , maths was never my strong subject and I’ve hopefully passed beyond confrontation , besides not all World problems have mathematical answers as conclusions .
