Evolving

I made it back home from New York and Philadelphia just in time for my wife and her sister (who was visiting from Melbourne) to head to New York for five days, from Sun-Dee to Fri-Dee. Under the “while the cat’s away the mice will play” motto I had some free time to get out and have some fun.

One of the options was the Evolution Music in Forest Park in St. Louis. Having attended my first music festival the weekend before in Philadelphia, I was thinking about doing my first festival dressed. I went back and forth all week, and had decided against, until I was texting with my BFF Michelle and she REALLY wanted to go. With the trifecta of music, dressing, and Michelle, not going was not an option.

I did have a few logistical issues; dropping my wife and her sister at the airport, then a noon doubles tennis match (lost), then head to Michelle’s house to clean up and change. I had stashed all my Dee stuff in the back of the car I drove to the airport, hidden away so my wife didn’t spot it (she knows I go out dressed, would prefer I didn’t, but tolerates it).

I decided on another rock girl outfit, including a top Michelle had given me. Given the outdoor venue, heels were out and my Red Keds were in, but it wasn’t too hot so I could wear the fishnet stockings.

We were probably overdressed but got several compliments. It was a bit muddy from rains on Friday but we managed to avoid the worst of it. Later I offered to take a picture of a group of four women, and in turn they offered to take ours. One of the four then approached me and started dancing with me, doing spins with me, something I am not accomplished at. She also called me hot, but I think that was the alcohol speaking. We both saw some performers each of us liked and just enjoyed the scene.

Fun day and night for Michelle and I.

  1. What a wonderful way to spend a day! Good music, a good friend, nice weather and a lot of positive comments on a very cute out fit. Life doesn’t get much better girl.
