Victoria Get Together on Vancouver Island – Day Two

By Trish White

I told Kandi about this trip and that I would do a post for Kandi’s Land and my reasoning was that on this trip I learned a couple of things about women firsthand. The first thing I learned was how truly nice girls are to each other and the start was when I went to breakfast with Lauren. I was wearing a denim mini skirt that had pink accents and I wore one of my favourite tops that was pink bodice with really puffy see thru sleeves with little pink flowers all over each sleeve (see above). It was then that one of the girls from the restaurant said to me “you are so pretty and I just love your top it is just so cute and looks amazing on you”. I thanked her for her kindness. Then Lauren and I decided to meet the other girls at the terminal for the Port Angeles ferry because there were about 12 girls coming up for High Tea at the Empress Hotel, which is a must do if you’re ever in Victoria. Lauren and I were ready a little early, so we went to the hotel restaurant again for coffee about 2:00pm to kill some time and as I walked in I heard the same girl from breakfast say Trish, “two out fits in the same day?”. I was now wearing a white mini skirt with a black top that had really pretty roses on it. I just laughed and filled her in on our High Tea adventure. It was a short walk to the Empress Hotel, and the sun was out just a beautiful day.

When the girls from Port Angeles showed up most of them were wearing period full length gowns. Some of which even had metal hoops. They all looked amazing and Lauren, me, Mitzi, Lovina and Kay were all totally underdressed that’s for sure. But we had a wonderful time. With all the tea I’d drank it was time to visit the Ladies room which was down a long hallway that had various stores. As I walked I saw a girl standing just outside one of the stores and I smiled at her and smiled back and said you’re beautiful. Of course, I thanked her and complimented her outfit. Between her and the lady in the hotel restaurant I could feel my head start to swell under my wig. What an amazing day it had been. And we still had dinner out to look forward to. We all wore what we had on.

Dinner was very good the restaurant was very close to where the Port Angels girls caught the ferry back. The food was amazing as was the company, Lauren, Kay, Mitzi, Lovina and me. They decided to go to a karaoke bar later that night but both Lauren and I decided to call it a night. We were both done with all the walking we did, and the bar was about 10 blocks away and neither one of us could carry a tune in a bucket.

  1. Trish, it looks like you had a fantastic time.

I love those outfits too you definitely have the legs to do them justice and I’m not surprised you got those compliments!

  2. Trish,
I am so happy for you and the ladies. High Tea at the Empress; been there, done that.

Walking around downtown Victoria is wonderful. I love that city.

You look fabulous in those mini skirts and tops. I’d be shocked if people didn’t compliment you. And your great long legs are eye catching.

    Well done beautiful.

    Love,
    Jocelyn

  3. Trish ,
Again this shows how much women think about clothes compared with men , they mean so much more , it’s amazing that a woman can go out with so many different looks . Just last night I was going through my wardrobe trying things on that I almost forgotten about , the problem is I now have two choices , lose a few pounds or dump some clothes , call me sentimental but losing a few pounds is a much better option than losing a few clothes . To me clothes carry memories , when I last wore a particular outfit and the comments I received . I’m sure you must feel the same , would you want to part with that pink top that you looked so cute in ?
We soon realise that women do notice and they will pass comment , I enjoyed my cruise so much especially when I dressed for dinner and walked into the cocktail bar , it felt like walking into an X-ray department being looked up and down . I’d never considered it before but a woman alone does create a threat , the wives would look me up and down and then check how much interest their husbands were showing and yes I did nearly get picked up a couple of times !!!
