Snow Globe

My great fortune to be able to do this every month.

It was time again for my monthly treat, working the MIX event at The Cleveland Museum of Art! This month’s theme was Snow Globe, December 5, 2025. That lead me to creating my look for the event. Wintry…cute…different without being extreme (I am a representative of the museum in my decade-long volunteer capacity). I got on the Amazon site, which is the answer to every question and my partner here as well as my most recent job (please do me the favor to help pay for this place by clicking the logo below when you go to Amazon) and ordered a handful of things to complete my look. The basis of the look was this cute white coat, adorbs Christmasy skirt, tights, scarf, beret and the muff. Chef’s kiss!

That is my position at the museum every Mix. It is particularly wonderful at Christmas as I get to stand next to the tree, which draws patrons for pictures. I get to take many photos for others and have people all around me the entirety of my shift. Two notable parts of this day. Sherry, for the second consecutive month and the second time ever, attended Mix along with our mutual friends Jennifer and Karen. I received one compliment after another as people swirled all around and past me to get to the galleries. I redirected many to our headline exhibit (the exit looks more like the entrance to the naked eye). The entire evening was just joyous for me!

As you recently reread, I filmed a movie in September 2021 called Grace & Mercy. Fast forward to the present-day Mix event. A couple is walking past me, I smile and the gentleman stops and asks if I am an actor. Yes, I reply. “Weren’t you in Grace & Mercy?” What? I was by no means anything other than nondescript background and that was four plus years ago. Cannot believe he remembered me! I believe he knew the director, who has now done two movies, both of which I am briefly in. Made me happy…

The following morning, December 6, 2025, I met Sherry for brunch at the place where she will be hosting her Very Sherry Christmas celebration soon. No real great story here other than time well spent with my dear friend! On the way, I stopped at the Rock Hall. I hadn’t been there is a while. There is quite a bit of new things to see, so I plan on returning soon. Sher and I had a lovely brunch and then went to the “Queer The Halls” holiday festival, featuring many vendors from the LGBT community. While it was great to walk through, there was less than zero things that I would drop a dime on… Just a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a cold day.

After having spent roughly five hours together over the course of two days, we finally did take a photo together!

  1. Two very cute outfits for two very different occasions! I always love your MIX event recaps, and the connection with a 4-year-old movie where you were background was a wonderful moment.

Hopefully Sherry will have a post about the Christmas gathering after it happens.
