The love and acceptance I receive when out will never get old to me. There was another vintage fest in town, so I figured I would again check it out! November 23, 2025, I put on a favorite t-shirt, cute skirt and an oversized cardigan and went to quite a few places. The first stop was to Giant Eagle to pick up two things, gravy and bourbon, both for the upcoming holiday. I walked down the aisle, past a woman talking to someone on her phone with her earbuds. As I strolled by, she stopped talking to tell me I looked very good. Very good (she said so twice). I smiled broadly and thanked her. Then I went into the state liquor store (inside the grocery store) and the lady who checked me out could not have been kinder. She loved my t-shirt (so do I) and said I was fly. That sets me up for a punchline here from The Offspring, but I won’t take it.
I then went to the vintage fest, which wasn’t all that large, but it was in a fabulous new event/concert space. I got one compliment after another. Yes, I stood out, but I did so in a very positive fashion. There I chatted up quite a few people and picked up the most ADORABLE dress and an amazing very 90’s short (really short) skirt. I could not wait to try them on!!
I then went to a local mall to exchange a dress I bought for the holidays and ended up picking up two cute sweaters on sale at Dry Goods. Love that place!
When I arrived home, I had the best time trying everything on as well as assembling an outfit for the upcoming art museum Christmas Mix party. I sometimes feel guilty that I am so happy when doing these things, without thought, just beaming all day. Nothing can make me this happy in a constant and consistent fashion. Yes, loved ones make me very happy, but I am not exuding joy every second I am with them. That was what this day was like. Every second, including time alone driving, I was smiling from ear to ear. Days like this never leave me wondering, they always affirm what I know about myself. Yes, I am a man, but there is also a glorious woman inside of me as well. And she is a Cleveland Babe!
