Girls on Film

Pose!

Or more appropriately, “Girl on Film”. I thought about going with “Centerfold”, but I already shouted out The J. Geils Band and I ain’t no centerfold…

This song’s video broke Duran Duran in the early MTV era and they followed it up with the iconic Rio album. I do like this clearly ’80’s band, particularly a renaissance they had in the 90’s. “Undone” and particularly the video, which featured a gentleman coming home from work, removing his suit to find out he is wearing a bustier and then starts working on his makeup, was something I could not take my eyes off. I remember it vividly these 25 years later.

July 23, 2026, photoshoot! I purchased an outdoor boudoir photoshoot with the photographer I did my last boudoir shoot with. I put a lot of thought into my outfit for the shoot. I have been a bit chunky, although I have kicked my marathon training into gear. But the vacation was not kind to my expansive waistline (in terms of boudoir). The poison ivy, now gone, still left some fading marks on me. There are also tan lines that I don’t like for this purpose. Should I go bra and panties? One piece swimsuit? Bikini? Summer dress?

It was a gameday decision. I only had one single sandwich in a 48ish hour span of time. I took in as little as possible, including liquids. I ran and sweated my backside off, including wearing my “sauna belt”, rendering me completely soaked after running. The summer dress was the chunky alternative. The one piece was Plan B. Well, we did okay, bra and panties though not doable. I went with a lovely and perfect recent Victoria Secret bikini purchase. The top, sublime! The bottom helped hide what we’ll call “bloating”, what I call “still fat”. No comments on that please…. I am not hard on myself, I am honest and self-critical, which has done two things. One, this has allowed me to survive all of the non-health shit I have had to deal with. Two, I did qualify to run the preeminent marathon on the planet, so my approach to ME must work. It is how I get better, do better, be better. I am honest with myself about myself.

Let’s hear from yours truly on set, a campsite on a lake. I cannot make this any smaller, so you get an up-close and personal look at the shit show that is my face. Distance is my absolute friend!

Here are the pictures I took before venturing across town, an hour drive there and back. Mikayla was a doll and the shoot, only about 30 minutes (which was twice the agreed upon time based on a significant discount) was bliss. Walking around like that in the great wide open, doing “sexy” (at least I would like to think so) poses, was so much fun. I brought props and had definite ideas about poses and scenarios based upon photos from the site before I got there.

I tried to beat my wife home from work. She literally lets me do whatever I want, and I don’t take that for granted or take advantage of it. But I did not tell her I was doing a boudoir shoot, just that I was going out. I walk in with a giant fluffy PINK bag and a beach ball, and she says not a word. We go about discussing whatever was the topic of the day and then I went and got cleaned up. I did not walk in the house as you see here, I had thrown a dress on for the drive home. But no comment on the beach ball…

Coming soon to a blog near you (it will be a few weeks), the results!

The other day I was at work. As you know, I am a simian who mindlessly drives a truck. My job contains a tremendous amount of down time. Many times, when that happens, I kill time at the mall. For well over a decade, this has been the case and is partially why I have an enormous wardrobe. On this day, I stopped at PINK. Now understand, I was working. Wearing cargo pants, steel toed shoes, a t-shirt and a hat. Male mode. I walked into PINK and the wonderful SA greeted me, and I told her I had a coupon burning a hole in my pocket. For your information, I LOVE PINK bras! I have quite a few.

Told her MY bra size and let her show me some options (like I needed help…). The current sale was buy 2 of anything, get 1 free. I picked out a few bras and asked for a fitting room. No probs. I had her check the fitting on my newest bra. Then I asked her (like I needed the help) to help me find matching panties. We talked about how I love wearing matching bra and panties. Remember, I am in male mode. It ended up that they didn’t have the matching panties in my size, so I picked up some cute lip gloss to take advantage of the BOGO and my coupon. I also talked to her about working there and she encouraged me to apply. I have done so (online, hate that but it’s the world we live in today). Since male me (my legal name) had to apply, I am skeptical, but we’ll see. Working there part time (based on what she told me), would be a dream scenario for me. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we’ll see.

I ended up making a few other purchases this day at two other places, in male mode, openly discussing the purchases were for me. Not sure anything could have been more awesome than being this vulnerable, that honest, so accepted, almost matter of fact.

Lipstick cherry all over the lens as she’s falling
And miles of sharp blue water coming in
Where she lies
The diving man’s coming up for air
‘Cause the crowd all love pulling dolly by the hair
By the hair
And she wonders how she ever got here
As she goes under again

Where we walk the walk, we go out, we are in the real world all the time, frequently. The cliche of cliches, we put our money where our mouth is. This is the place where reality lives, AI dies.

If you don’t like reality and a positive outlook on life, then Kandi’s Land is not for you.
