Let me set this up. This Thursday and the subsequent five Thursdays will feature an afternoon of fun I had in mid-July. It was supposed to be stormy, which ended up not being accurate (surprise, the weather people were wrong yet again). I wanted to get dressed but had no desire to travel or spend any money (just bought a car, then heading off for vacation). Plus, my poison ivy, while not all over, was in some key places, causing some unsightly parts of my body. So I decided to do a photoshoot.
Here was the premise. I selected six gowns/dresses that I recently acquired. Most of them were purchased for less than $5.00. Two were only slightly more, nothing in excess of $10.00. Today’s dress was just over $5.00. I did my makeup in a neutral pallet. I used a darker wig that I most likely will not wear out and about. I then went from one dress to another, selecting a purse, shoes and jewelry and did a (selfie) photoshoot in different parts of our home, then the next and the next. It was a busy four hours and great, great fun! I am not a dress and stay-at-home girl (nothing wrong with that, it’s just not me). Here is gown number one!

A couple of favorite 2020 pictures. This is what I wrote when originally posted on my Flickr page: “There are infrequent times when I come home and before I get all cleaned up, I look into the mirror and see a woman. A real woman. Me! This always is joyful for me, but this evening I looked at a very pretty woman, and I could not be prouder of her!!”
