I received the above from my friend, Mo. We recently met (see the post here) at the dedication of the pickleball facility named to honor my late and great friend, Jim. We then went shopping together to help her put together a few outfits for upcoming events (see that post here). And then I received the above invitation.
This photo was taken maybe ten minutes after we met. There was an instant human connection, we are indeed sisters. Look that those smiles!

November 16, 2025, I attended this celebration of sisterhood. Mo’s husband passed away, and she attended grief counseling where she met Magda, Jim’s window, which is how she met me. Everyone invited to this afternoon helped Mo through this process. And I was invited. Wow! The picture below is me with both Mo and Magda. I will treasure that photo forever and tear up with absolute joy every time I look at it.

We were there for about two hours. I met most of the other women there (all ladies), talked with many, felt so at ease and welcomed. We had wine and apps and then sat down to create our centerpieces. You can see mine above. I drew some great compliments on my handiwork! I cannot tell you what every single bit of my being there meant. The love, the bonds, the absolute feeling of acceptance I felt because I didn’t have to be “accepted”, I was one of the ladies. Amazing.

Sure, I was overdressed. I will remember this afternoon always.
THIS is what life is all about.

You are far too kind, my dear friend! Thank you.
Kandi,
You show so well that being empathetic and real and kind and loving yields benefits for us as human beings — and receiving those benefits living as you…well, nothing is better.
Uplifting post. Thank you for sharing your joy.
Lisa
My great pleasure!
You looked beautiful and glad you had an amazing experience!
Thanks BFF!!
This was such a sweet post, Kandi! You can really feel how genuine the connection was with Mo and Magda. Those kinds of moments don’t happen often, and when they do, they stick. I love how naturally you fit into that space with them, not as someone being “included,” but just as part of the group from the start. That kind of ease is rare, and honestly, really beautiful to see.
I am literally the blind squirrel, every on in a while I get a great acorn!
