Happy New Year!! Yes, February 26, 2022 was New Year for me.
Movie number 5! “Calendar” a Troubadour Films production. I am in two scenes. This was the first and is the opening scene in the movie. I will not give away the plot, but the movie opens on New Year’s Eve, 2020 (in a parallel universe….no COVID, etc.). And I can unequivocally say, I will be in this movie. I played the bartender (great casting call, huh?). We count down the New Year, sing Auld Lang Syne, the principals get engaged in front of yours truly, my aged hands were filmed up close pouring shots (water in a vodka bottle). I also poured “champaign” (apple juice). It was soooo much fun!! As usual, I made new friends, made an impression in a creative process and for that, I am thankful!
My day started having breakfast with a friend who is an integral part of the Cleveland International Film Festival. While it is not Sundance or Cannes, it is a fairly significant festival. We’ll see what comes of this, but she thinks there may be room for this girl to work for the festival and she will also put me in touch with the head of the Cleveland Film Commission. The Avengers movies (the Russo brothers are native Clevelanders), Cherry, Judas and The Black Messiah and the upcoming Wheat Germ, starring me (okay, I am a spec on the wall, but I will be in the film!), were all shot in Cleveland. This connection could be very meaningful for me. Stay tuned!!
PS I did get the job and will be working with the fundraising team at the festival for a little over the week that is runs. Over a nine day span, I took off two days and will either work my regular job (as me) or this job (as Kandi). Up early, get dressed, get out the door, get home, workout, make dinner, experience life as a woman in today’s society!

Love ❤️ this!!! Great job!! I am so glad you are living your dreams and loving life! You are amazing 😻!
And you are very sweet!! Thank you!!
I hope to see you again???
I am completely in love with that dress – it’s so simple yet so stylish and you look fabulous in it! Maybe it’s a little bit dressier than most bartenders would wear, but you pull it off easily. Your movie career is certainly taking off, keeping your face visible is going to work out wonderfully for you. ❤
Thanks Tina! In the movie, you can only see me from about the chest up, so I probably don’t look overdressed.
