A dear friend invited me to a holiday dinner party in DC and I could not resist!! So on December 18, 2021, I embarked on a 24 hour journey. This included my third and fourth flights pretty in the last two weeks.
This allowed for three outfits for the weekend. Here is my travel outfit to DC. The trip was fairly uneventful, with two exceptions. I took a calculated risk packing my wig spray. I now no longer own that wig spray, as it exceeded TSA volume limits for liquid. The TSA agent was very pleasant.
While we were waiting for our bags to come down the belt (mine was the holdup!), the gentleman behind me commented on my Victoria’s Secret bag and asked if I modeled for them! Now please understand two things, I was masked and due to my recent training ramp-up, I was rail thin and, if I must say so, looking better that I ever have! No, I told him, but I did tell him I am a model! We chatted a bit more and he asked if I was going to Charlotte. Unfortunately, I was not. He was very kind and fed my already bloated ego a bit.
I arrived at the hotel and checked in. I handed the clerk my ID. He looked at it and asked if my husband would be joining me! “No, that’s me.” He apologized to which I said there was no reason to do so. He was extremely kind, continually referring to me as Ma’am. I also got a “she” during the trip, yes, I know I always should. But I will forever notice when this happens and thrill that I am indeed the woman they are referencing!
Our dinner was scheduled for 7:00, but I was getting bored sitting in my room, so I hoofed it to the restaurant early, sat at the bar, chatted with the lovely bartender and relaxed.
The dinner itself was a joy! I renewed acquaintances with three friends and made four new ones. No real story here, just a spectacular meal and even more spectacular company!!
Up early the next day, December 19, 2021, to fly home, happy and exhausted. This may be my last time dressing in 2021.
It’s been quite a year!

Kandi,
Your such a wonderful woman and roll model for us all. The TSA must be getting use to your appearance at the gate, “ Here comes Kandi, again” . Love all three outfits, especially the green top with the black pencil skirt. Nice picture of Your crew. At some point I expect you to be on the cover of Vogue and Elle magazines as the country’s top trans model. Yes you herd me!
If you could arrange those cover shoots, I would greatly appreciate it!!
You all look so young and fabulous. What a lovely group of ladies.
Lisa
ps my guess is the fellow in the TSA line was hitting on you, even though you didn’t describe it like that — always good to be affirmed, although strange to be attractive to men, I am sure, as you are happily married to a woman!
Flirting, no question. Hitting on, it was kinda spur of the moment. I was flattered for sure!!
You look beautiful 😘
Thank you Sher!!!!
Kandi I agree with Sherry you look wonderful
I also must ask your wig looks so natural
I’m guessing it’s a high quality wig
Glad you had such a great time and love the model comment
Hugs Rachael
