The Christine Jorgensen Show

What a wonderful show! What an amazing evening!

Again I am rewarded for flying solo. November 5, 2025 my wife had the closing shift at work, so I wanted to take advantage of that by doing something. So I purchased a single ticket at Cleveland Playhouse for this wonderful show. Since I was only buying one ticket, I was able to get a single seat at a cabaret table literally dead center in front of the stage, no one in front of me. There were three other ladies sitting at the table and they welcomed me immediately. Probably no more than three minutes into having introduced ourselves, they asked me to join them in a selfie. What wonderful ladies!

I have talked here about trans people like Renee Richards or Grae Phillips and actors dressed as women like Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies that shaped my youth. Christine Jorgensen was another. And I have had the great honor of having interviewed Grae here as well as having a conversation with Tom Hanks.

The show was amazing! I smiled broadly through the entirety of the show, teared up during much of it and wept afterward. It was well done, humorous, touching, entertaining, and just the best possible experience I could imagine. It was a two person show. The parents of the young man who played Myles Bell were there from Arizona. I complimented them on his performance and later I saw the three of them having a drink. I walked up and told him how awesome I thought he was and the show was.

The entire experience was wonderful. I saw a friend there at another show. Each and every person I interacted with could not have been kinder and sweeter to me. I am truly the luckiest girl in the world!

One note on the dress I wore. I was in Walmart buying some clothing for work (male clothing). I cut through the women’s department to check out. I saw the yellow clearance sign, so I quickly stopped to look. As I have said here, much of everything you see me wearing here gets donated or sold after wearing it. I will keep certain things, like solid color dresses or things that really look good on me. I am keeping this dress. And it only cost me $0.99! Not a dollar, ninety-nine cents! Money well spent.

  1. The story of Christine is something I recall in my late teens where I read a story about her in one of my moms magazines
I was already questioning myself as to what was it about ladies attire that I wanted to wear such beautiful things
Then I read her story and it most definitely impacted me and gave me pause, was this me am I trans without knowing that word
Sounds like a show I would enjoy
You look fabulous as always my dear

  2. You look great and what a wonderful evening.
    Question:
Are you throwing a ‘Tank Bowl – For First Pick’ party this weekend?
    clowns vs. trader$
    Inquiring minds want to know.

    1. Most likely I will not even watch… At least in my lifetime the “Trader$” were good, and I am old.

If we got the first pick, we would blow it anyway as we have done time and again (yes, Baker is a quality QB, but we passed on Josh Allen, ’nuff said).
