So Incredibly Fortunate

What an evening!

Amazingly, with all of your help and support, I made the second cut as a Style Icon!

We are now in the third stage of voting, until this Thursday at 7:00PM.

Your vote would be greatly appreciated (you can vote daily once for free).

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming….

I have a friend who was a Project Runway designer. She asked me to get involved with a project she was involved with. I didn’t seem to me to be progressing, but I was able to get involved at the last minute and was thrilled to be able to participate! fashion, interiors + textile symposium kicked off on October 17, 2025! This was an event with a cocktail party, a panel discussion about how we can grow Cleveland as a fashion hub and a terrific fashion show with multiple designers. The amazing part for me was a knew so many people either there as a patron or as a model, designer or from another organizations. It was sensory overload. But first, understand I dressed to be noticed and I was!

Before I reported for “work”, I had a fitting for a fashion show which I walked the day following (the post to be here very soon). I won’t go into much here, as the story was and is the fashion show. But in doing this, I walked through Cleveland’s Tower City. Everywhere I went, I got compliment after compliment! As I walked to the parking garage, behind an African American woman who was on her phone, she wrapped up her phone and turned around and saw me. “Girl, you are gorgeous! Fuck!!” Maybe one of my best compliments, ever. Fuck!!

My job was to check people into the event. There were name tags, but not all of them. There was no way for me to verify what someone had purchased. Bottom line, we were unprepared for the first impression. But I am perfect as smoothing over issues for patrons. Looks like I will be more involved next year helping earlier on with the front end of the event.

Time after time, I was known by someone from somewhere else. A fellow actress, who was in my most recent shooting, recognized me and we talked about the experience. One woman, while she wasn’t sure of my name, talked at length of a conversation she and I had as a photo exhibit probably at least five years ago.

All I can say, I knew I looked great. I was told so and by having done that, everyone knowing who and what I am, exhibited such great love and acceptance. Damn, I am such a fortunate girl!

The show was held at the Cleveland History Center, and I took full advantage of this for a photo shoot.

This is Obi and me. He was the driver behind this event.

Just to let you all know, the love and support of this community is amazing! I am graced by all of your presence on this here planet and as inhabitants of Kandi’s Land. Last Friday, on my trip to Chicago and my Pink Fog post, the comments brought me to tears, as well as holding an infant, a little over a month old who is what life is all about. Life passing it forward. Me, being rewarded for persevering. Pure, unadulterated joy! My life is changed very much for the better. I will be a better human being going forward because of him. I needed him.
