Wow, It couldn’t have been any more perfect!
Back in September I saw an advertisement for an LGBTQ wedding fashion show and immediately inquired about it by emailing the event promoter. As with most of these events things happen and they never come to fruition. I, of course asked Paige if she needed models and sent her a few modeling pictures. Unfortunately she said she already had her models. Wanting to be part of the event I said I would volunteer and would love to help out with the models in the fashion show. Unbeknownst to me Kandi was one of the models! As March 2nd got closer I would periodically touch base with Paige to reassure her that I was still interested in helping out. Through one of Kandi’s posts I figured out that she was walking in the show. As a volunteer Paige wanted me to wear black so that’s what I did!

As always, I over plan and have multiple outfits or shoes just in case. As I packed for the event I threw into my “model bag”, as Kandi detailed in her post, a few extra shoes and earrings. Because I was wearing all black I needed something to pop so I decided to go with a purple pallet for my makeup and a new grey and black necklace my wife bought for me. I also used a purple color street nail sticker with sparkles in it that my sister gave me for my fingernails.
On March 2nd I walked into the very beautiful and renovated factory space. Everyone was still setting up their spaces. I found Paige and she directed me to TLC Bridal who were supplying all of the dresses. As I approached the owner Trudy she asked me if I was here to try on the blue dress. I hesitantly said yes as Kandi assured Trudy that it was definitely Yes. I told her I was here to volunteer but have definitely modeled before. She took me in the dressing room and I tried on the “blue” dress. It was actually more purple and matched my makeup to a tee! When getting dressed at home I debated to wear my blonde wig or my naturally long gray hair. I decided on my hair and it matched the dress so well! The dress was perfect and it felt like it was meant for me! The ladies from the dress shop all were so excited that it was perfect.
The models waited in the dressing room until the show started. I got into a conversation with a non-binary couple who were married. They were both so happy to be married and showed me pictures of the ceremony. It was time for the fashion show to start and I had no nervousness whatsoever. I absolutely LOVE being a runway model. I was greeted with many compliments regarding the dress, makeup and hair! We will get video and pics from the event! Can’t wait to see them.

Our friends Chyna and Gena came to the event. Unfortunately Gena had a wardrobe malfunction and had to leave abruptly. Chyna looked exquisite in her pink outfit that she partially borrowed from her wife. She thoroughly enjoyed herself as she walked around. After we were finished getting pictures with Paige and the other models the three of us went to a local brewery for dinner and a drink. There was a band playing and everyone was celebrating Mardi Gras. Of course Kandi knew someone and she came over to our table to say hello. It’s always nice to blend in and just “be”. After we were done with dinner and a drink or two we said our goodbyes and gave hugs! Hope you like the pictures 😘

Sherri & Kandi,
Modeling must be absolutely enjoyable and possibly a genuine GIRL HIGH. Both of you look great. Have Fun.

Walking the runway is AMAZING!
Sherry
Sherry,
You lucky girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I (and many many others) would love to do something like that, any fashion where I can show my true self. I just googled “LGBTQ wedding fashion show” and found some events ‘close’ by. Thanks for the idea.
