The Show

Lately, we’ve had the “Shoot” and the “Fitting” which was the prelude now to “The Show”. You have begun seeing the boudoir pics. Now March 2, 2025 we got our ultimate girl on and walked another bridal fashion show. Photos of the “Walk” coming soon to a blog near you.

I showed up around 10:00AM for HMU on a frigid day. Made even more so because the garage door to the venue was open for about an hour as vendors moved into the space. I was literally shaking uncontrollably, being aged and not dressed for these temps (indoors). Our BFF, the Enigma, one wonderful S. Greer, showed up around the same time to “volunteer”. Suspiciously, our friend brought a bag full of shoes and other items, what is generally known as a model bag. And to her “surprise” they asked her to also walk the show. I was very happy about that, but again, it was suspicious in my book.

The overall show opened at noon, the fashion show at 1:30. Once I got into the chair, I spent well over an hour plus in hair first, then makeup. My hair looked (and still does) sublime, but that wig is shot. So is my forehead. I have an ugly wound from the tightness of the new do. We suffer for our beauty, and that happens to be a fact here. I may be able to use the wig with this do a few times, but it is literally a helmet now I (so much hairspray, so many bobby pins). So you will see a shift in my look going forward until I land on another look. I may simply go back and repurchase the same wig, we’ll see.

The pictures I will share on this post are from a few wonderful photo booth vendors at the show. Gotta say, they are kinds cute…

Once HMU was completed, once I was lashed (corset back) into my dress, once my cleavage was all set (a few safety pins were required), once the veil was in place, I looked at myself in the mirror. My knees buckled! I was beautiful! In an “alternative” wedding show, featuring 10 models, a few nonbinary, a few goth, Sherry, a cis-woman and me, I was the traditional bride in the show. And I could not have been prouder of myself. I want to think I turned “alternative” on its head, almost back to traditional, in a way.

The actual walk was like floating on air. We were appreciated. We represented our vendor (there is always a bridal boutique behind these shows) extraordinarily well. We were all beautiful human beings!

I was blessed to spend about an additional hour in the dress. I walked around, selfishly gathering compliments, taking a few pictures with vendors and admiring fans, as it were.

Our great friend Chynna came out in daylight to spend time with us. She is a doll! Our dear friend, Geena, was there but apparently had a significant wardrobe malfunction, so much so that while I saw her briefly, she was gone. Love you Geena!

BFF, Chy and Grandma went out for a bite to eat. As Sher parked her giant phallus of a truck, which took nearly an hour (I am a exaggerating slightly, but not by much, it’s tough to park her yacht into a regular parking space), I walked into the restaurant. Within about 30 seconds, I wrapped a friend in a hug (a friend I had no idea would be there, whom I adore). Some time (not all the time, believe me) it’s good to be me.

The whole day was so awesome. Sher got to, “surprisingly”, walk the show. Chy got to see daylight. I was adorbs, the kinda-perfect bride. I was able to spend time with both. My friend, Paige, who made the whole thing happen, crushed it. Ashley, Trudy and the fab TLC Bridal crew was so well represented and we hope, will be booking business from the show.

When I say I am blessed and cursed, it could not be more true. Yes, shit happens and it does so to everyone. But your girl, she rebounds in so many wonderful ways. A huge kiss to so many people from this day.

There are many, many more pics to come! The professional photos by Paige of us on the runway. The above is the only one I will share of me walking into the show and after the bridal dress went bye-bye. Yes, I look not so good. I had to wear something I could get I could get in and out of without mussing the face…

Sher, you are always the BFF! And for someone asked to walk at the very last minute 😉, so unexpected, you crushed it (note how the accessories absolutely matched the dress, what a surprise!)! Love you…
