As the new year kicks off (Editorial Comment: this was written in late December 2025), I’ve been reflecting on a surge of inspiration that’s been building in me lately.
Last night, while immersed in the rhythm of live music pulsing through the air, these words started flowing like a melody I couldn’t ignore. But truthfully, this mindset has been brewing for the past month as I’ve been deeply immersed in my book Dysphoria Hacks (.com), a game-changer that’s drawn from Marine training principles to tackle gender dysphoria head-on.
Through its tactical lessons and workbook, I’ve found myself identifying so strongly with breaking through the fears that hold us back and shattering the expectations others impose on us.
It’s all about transforming that inner turmoil into confidence and action, much like evolving beyond the “norms” society tries to enforce.
It was one of those moments where inspiration strikes unannounced, and after refining it down, I realized I’d captured the essence in the fewest words possible for maximum impact.
Here’s the core of my message, a toast to the trailblazers among us:
*********
“Wishing all worthy enough to grow beyond societal norms. To become unique and have the courage to stand and shine their brilliance brightly among those who would lack the will to grow beyond the shadow of the opinions of others! Happy 2026”
*********
LIBERATE YOURSELF!
But let me expand on what this can mean for you, right here at the dawn of a fresh year. In a world that often boxes us in with “shoulds” and “musts”—from career paths dictated by trends to identities shaped by outdated norms and social media filters—breaking free isn’t just an act of rebellion; it’s an act of self-liberation.
For those like me in the “transgender” space, this brings my meaning to a whole other level.
Imagine shedding the weight of everyone else’s expectations, those invisible chains that keep so many playing it safe in the shadows, gripped by fear of judgment or rejection.
YOU ARE WORTHY
You’re worthy of that growth if you’re willing to nurture it, just like the “hacks” in the book that turn vulnerability into strength. Sadly 99% will not heed my words and remain trapped. You’re the 1%, aren’t you!
Becoming unique? That’s about honoring your quirks, your passions, your truth the sparks that make you unmistakably you—whether it’s embracing your true self in the face of dysphoria or pursuing that offbeat hobby others might not understand. And the courage to shine?
Oh, that’s the real game-changer. It means stepping into the spotlight, even when doubters whisper (or shout) from the sidelines, pushing past the fear of not fitting in. Those who stay stuck? They’re often held back not by ability, but by that same fear—of failure, of standing out, or of defying what others expect.
But you? You can rise above, letting your brilliance illuminate not just your path, but inspire others to follow suit. For me, diving into Dysphoria Hacks has been a reminder that we can hack our way through those barriers, turning “what if” into “watch me.”
In 2026, let’s commit to this: Evolve beyond the norm. Embrace your genius. Stand tall against the fears and expectations. Who’s with me? Drop a 🔥 if this resonates, and share how you’re breaking free this year—maybe even recommend a book that’s sparked your own growth!

Gwen ,
Should I celebrate being the 1%er , lets not forget it took 100% blood, sweat and TEARS to achieve it .
Your message is loud and clear , I can agree with it but it’s in hindsight . I didn’t know what lay ahead when I embarked on this road . It is like passing through a one way door , you step over a threshold into a void , the hopes and dreams aren’t visible , your title is so true , ” What if “does become “Watch me !” AND there are lots of spectators , some wishing you well and others hoping you will fall flat on your face and perhaps come crawling back .
We must understand and respect it’s not for everyone , there’s no single reason it really does depend on the indivdual’s values . It is a HUGE gamble , your really do have to know and understand yourself , starting a totally new life ALONE in a different gender , some days I can’t believe I actually did it .
Do I regret it ? NOT A SINGLE DAY !! It is very much a case of ” WATCH ME ” I push almost everyday to succeed more in my new life . I always hope my flag waving doesn’t go unnoticed , again I thank Kandi for giving me the opportunity to help others .
Gwen,
I know I’m a 1%er, many times its a 0.1%er or lower. Everything from my genetics to my careers to injuries to …, I’ve lived an unique life. The hardest part is having the fortitude and cahones to walk through that door to a new world (existence). At work I’m known for my uniqueness, smarts, and leadership (and heels and nails).
And then there is old age where it just doesn’t matter what others think, what matters is your mental health and living a long and full satisfying life.
(I think I have used up my quota of ‘and’s.)
