It’s November 18, 2025, the eighth anniversary of Kandi’s Land!
Sorry for stepping on your Tuesday Mandy! She’s back next week.
Last year we did a retrospective of each year in my life in Kandi’s Land. Check it out here!
Let’s continue looking back at the amazing blessings I have had the great fortune to experience since our seventh blog birthday.
I was honored to walk three fashion shows and be heavily involved in another.

Amazingly, I have been asked to walk two more bridal shows in February 2026, one a mainstream show and the other the Ohio is For Lovers alternative show you see at the top of this section. I am deeply honored to do so and be a proud representative of my sisters!
I did an amazing boudoir photo shoot.

Saw the premiers of movies I was a part of.

Shot new films.

Took risks.

Saw friends (if I missed someone I apologize, this is not meant to be comprehensive).

Finally, I was bored one afternoon and created the following mural, The many faces of Kandi. Once I finished it, I felt a tremendous rush of pride. These are some excerpts of the boudoir shoot.

I guess I’ll stop here. You get the point. As the saying goes, all of this and $5 won’t cover a Happy Meal, but it does give me purpose and makes me happy (if not eternally conflicted).

Kandi,
What a great year for you. Congratulations.
You are looking more beautiful than ever.
Love you,
Jocelyn

Hi Kandi, I have used the little sister – big sister analogy previously. It surely applies in this post.
But I thought Kandi is even more than a big sister to me. She is a mentor, albeit at this point virtual. However Chicago is not that far from Cleveland. A few hours to be sure, but it’s not across the country or “the pond” so maybe one day if even but for a few hours maybe it can be big sister / mentor in person.
Your boldness and free spirit may frighten this demure girl to no end, but then it might just be what I need to starting writing a new chapter.
Hugs,
Charlene
We are all sisters! When I am a bit freer to roam when in Chicago, we will meet.
Kandi, those are such beautiful pictures. What a wonderful year you had.
Hey Kandi, happy 8th and thanks so much for being here
You bring such joy to this blog and the contributors are so great
Here’s to another 8 years 🥂
Eight years is incredible! I didn’t realize this space had been around that long. Seeing everything you’ve done (the shows, the photoshoots, the films, the friendships), it honestly makes me want to stick with my own blog for the long haul too. I’m really glad I found this corner of the internet! Cheers, Kandi!
Thank you dear! Means a lot…
